Woodbury Castle and East Devon

The large flock of Chaffinch and Brambling present this morning and preferring the inside of the west side of the iron age fort.  Several hundred in total (maybe even 400) and a good proportion are Brambling.  The new steps up to the enclosure are now open and the birds are best viewed from the top.  Difficult to count numbers as the birds are constantly moving from ground to trees.

I also tried Colaton Raleigh Common as far as the grenade range but little about worth noting other than a few Dartfords, Pipits and Stonechat with a Green Woodpecker heard.

Back home a Sparrow Hawk settled on my feeders... luckily no birds there at the time!
