South Efford Marsh, Aveton Gifford

Met Perry on his way from the hide. My totals are slightly different than his, as I spent a lot longer time there through the tide. Sightings included  3 Bar-Tailed Godwits, with one Black-Tailed. 8 Greenshanks, 2 Redshanks, only one Common Sandpiper for me, Cattle Egret, 9 Dunlin , 3 Ringed Plover, 1 Grey Wagtail and several Pied, 35 Teal and Rod Bone counted 240+ Canada Geese. Just before 5pm I found a Curlew Sandpiper in with the Dunlin. Rang Eric W, who made his way to the hide. However before he arrived an Osprey flew across the lower end of the Marsh scattering every bird in sight! The Curlew Sand had been in my scope sight until then, but could not relocate it when Eric arrived. He did find one bird I had missed, a yellow wagtail with the cattle on the marsh.
