Velator reserve

First ringing session of the year today. I fear the Finches have rumbled where the nets are and I'm not catching many now the winter is dragging on. So only 20 of four species today. Somewhat surprised by the number of new Blue Tits - 10, and another 11 or so retrapped. Also retrapped a Chiffchaff ringed in December, and saw another which frustratingly dodged under another net, doubly frustrating as it looked a bit grey, needless to say I didn't see it again. Unusual bird of the day was a Snipe which dodged in and out of the reserve without finding a net.
