Exminster Marshes

Between 4.00 and 5.00 pm a female merlin was sitting on various posts to the north of Station road. Elsewhere c60 shoveller were in one flock unlike the wigeon and teal. Heard water rails from 7 locations and Cettis from 3. On the canal one kingfister. Flock of 250 brents flew south from near the motorway. About 200 lapwing flying around as were a few snipe. Flock of c40 linnets were in the canal-side car park.

Earlier in the day one brambling on the seed feeders in my garden. Still waiting for the starling to visit.
