Fairly quiet on the rising tide at Bowling Green Marsh this morning with 3 Ruff, 1 second calendar year Med gull & plenty of Sedge warblers the highlights so I wandered down to the viewing platform. Shortly after entering the field a Hoopoe flew over and into Riversmeet. I didn't see it again. A very fortunate view and apparently the first record for the reserve. From the viewing platform c 25 Pale-bellied Brent geese flew up river. 21 Whimbrel seen in small groups.
