Lesser Whitethroat - Tarka trail

Cycled from Braunton to Barnstaple along the trail again this morning.

On the outgoing journey 1 Lesser Whitethroat was vocalising many times from the Hawthorn & bramble bushes & flying from one bush to the next from Ashford Strand towards Ashford Sewage treatment works where it fell silent in a bush with several other species including a Sedge Warbler, Chiffchaff & Chaffinch. I continued to Barnstaple & during the return journey heard the bird again several times between the sewage works & Ashford. The bird can be heard warbling inside or at the back of a Hawthorn or bramble bush but I was not able to obtain a photo.

A useful tip - be as quiet as possible when you hear it because it will stop singing if you talk!
