Quiet in the reserve today, only a couple each of Chiffs and Blackcaps singing. Took a walk around Sherpa Marsh late evening, and saw a rather fine Water Pipit but was otherwise resigned to the normal 4 Little Egrets, a bunch of Teal and a couple of drake Tufted Ducks, when another pair of small ducks headed in my direction - glad I looked as they turned out to be a pair of Garganey! They dropped into the area around the main pond (opposite the Toll House).

Continuing round a flock of Wagtails flew off towards Chivenor - probably White Wagtails about 15/20 of them. finally three smaller Wagtails were possibly Yellow Wagtails, flying away in poor light......
