Fremington & Home Farm Marsh, Taw Estuary

Single Chiffchaffs along the Tarka Trail (singing) and along the seawall at Home Farm Mash. On the estuary from Home Farm Marsh (mainly on Chivenor side): 240 Wigeon, 3 Gadwall, 2 Red-breasted Merganser, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 120 Black-tailed Godwit (incl 48 feeding earlier in Fremington Pill), 2 Greenshank, 10 Turnstone and 80 Common Gulls (steady passage downstream). 4 Spoonbills at the mouth of Fremington Pill (including the older of the two colour-ringed birds present at Wrafton earlier in the day). Then later at Fremington Pill pre-roost: 7 Cattle Egrets, 20 Little Egrets and 1 Glossy Ibis. A touch of the Med in North Devon...
