Velator reserve

Sitting quietly by the pond this lunchtime, I was watching for ripples, as I thought I had seen the splash of a Little Grebe earlier. Didn't appear, but more ripples revealed a Kingfisher repeatedly diving in from a low branch.

Last week, a pair of Canada Geese paid two visits to the pond, - two weeks earlier than they appeared last year. Still several Reed Buntings taking seeds.
