Long Tailed Duck and Goldeneye at Topsham Rec

Great couple of hours spent with DB at Topsham today produced the normal suspects at Bowling Green Marsh with good numbers of Avocets BT Godwits but the main action was off both the viewing platform and Topsham Rec. Off the viewing platform a Grey Seal catching a fish in front of us then losing it! 3 x Great Crested Grebe, Mergansers, a Male Goldeneye 300+ Brent, good numbers of Pintail and the highlight a Slovenian Grebe showed well. At the Rec the Yellow Browed Warbler was showing well, 3 Goldeneye and the Long Tailed Duck were on view in the river with 2 Water Rail and Reed Buntings in the reed beds. Plenty of Redwings feasting on berries in a private garden nearby, but no Waxwings for us!
