Horsey Island and Caen River

After a few days of looking I finally found a/the Wryneck in the grass and on the fence behind the fishermen's huts at 12.30 today. A very striking bird close up with almost reptilian posture and markings as it molded itself into a grass tussock. All the regulars present including a Glossy Ibis on the flood near the 'White House'. Apologies for image quality. Phone through scope.
