Exmouth LNR

The eel grass beds off Exmouth's Imperial Rec. Ground to Mudbank and beyond are now providing their usual autumn spectacle.

On today's ebbing tide there were 54 Swans, c950 Brent Geese and (on a rough and ready count) around 3,500 to 4,000 duck, mainly Wigeon with Pintail and Mallard.    150 Turnstones counted by Derek Carter a little later at Mudbank.

It's quite a sight.   Approx 1.5 to 2 hours after high tide is best when the Brents come close inshore (less if neap tides)
