Velator reserve

Ringing this morning produced another good range of species - predominantly Finches, still no Brambling but 3 each of Gold and Bullfinches along with the more common Chaff and Green. Slight lack of attention when a Great Spotted Woodpecker drilled me, drawing blood - note more care with these! Others were 4 Blackbirds and another Song Thrush, plenty more new Tits, and singles of Reed Bunting (two others seen) Cetti's Warbler, and Chiffchaff (two others seen). Lots of retraps with some big Blackbirds, presumably continentals. Sadly didn't catch any of the Redwings or Starlings feeding on the Buckthorn berries.
