Anchorwood bank, Barnstaple

10:30 - 12:30 on a receding tide.
There were a lot of birds this morning, nothing unusual but big numbers for this site. I heard a few gunshots coming from Pottington area so maybe that drove the birds over to the anchorwoods side.
Among the birds were well over 100 Redshank, the usual splattering of Oystercatcher and Curlew, c80 Lapwing, c150 Sanderling, a few Dunlin and a couple of dozen Shelduck. A nice bonus was a grey wagtail feeding in one of the guts.
