Exminster Marshes

Short visit at lunch time. Sunny and cold. Access fine with almost no water in the lane.

Lots of ducks including 800+ wigeon, 300+ teal and 80+ shoveller on the wet fields south of the lane. On the lagoon 24 gadwall and 8 tufted duck plus a few more wigeon. Elsewhere a few mallard. Nearer the Turf the brent geese were spread out in the field making counting difficult due to trees in the view. I estimate about 500 but could only see 8 1w. Only waders I could see were curlew (c100) and a few lapwing. Earlier in the day I saw a flock of c300 lapwing flying towards the marshes.
