South Huish & South Hams

On the way down to South Huish Marsh this morning male Reed Bunting, Mistle Thrush, Pied Wagtails, a Lesser White Throat (Nr Elston) Skylarks, Linnets and Chiffchaff.

On arriving at the marsh a small group of very excited birders watching at a bit of a distance a Purple Heron.

With the weather threatening a detour to Bolberry Downs gave very little four Gannets, female Kestrel, a very pale Buzzard a small number of calling birds coming in off of the sea which I suspect were Linnets, several singing Skylarks.

Back to South Huish just in time to spot a Purple Heron flying in but lost in reed cover once it had landed, at times almost continuous movement of Swallows, House and Sands Martins over the marsh, Heron, Little Egret, one Common Sandpiper, one Ringed Plover, three Whimbrel flew into the marsh but did not stay for long.

Back home in South Brent male Blackcap, Reed Buntings and Siskins on the garden feeders.
