Sherpa Marsh

As I missed them this morning, I went down on an entirely successful mission to see the pair of Garganey this evening. I stayed on for a while and found 4 Yellow Wagtails, including 3 smart males. I called Sue as she had missed these this morning. When she arrived I was also able to point out the female Wheatear to her. We watched and waited - perhaps for a Swift, no joy, but then a cracking BLUE-HEADED WAGTAIL joined the Yellow ones. There were also a few House Martins, and good numbers of Sand Martins and Swallows, often perching on some brambles. 5 Little Egrets in the area. On the pill at least 5 Common Sandpipers and 3 Dunlin. In amongst the Pied Wagtails were a few White Wagtails
