Rillage Point

06.10–08.10, heavily overcast, E4 gusting 5: One Swift (first of year here) powering E along with 135 House Martins (all in tight bunches of 5–30 birds) but only 6 Swallows. Also on the move: 30 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 2 Tree Pipits, 48 Linnets, 35 Goldfinches, 16 Siskins, 1 redpoll sp. – everything going E into the wind. One Common Sandpiper, 1 Blackcap and 1 Lesser Whitethroat was pretty much it for migrants at ground level.
