Rillage Point

06.10 – 07.50, overcast, almost still: Strongest visible migration so far this spring, with 400 Swallows, 70 House Martins, 20 Sand Martins, 44 Linnets, 83 Goldfinches and 14 Siskins all moving W or NW. Hirundines still pouring through when I left. In the scrub single singing Grasshopper Warbler, Common Whitethroat (first of year here), Lesser Whitethroat, Blackcap and Chiffchaff, plus 1 f Wheatear. A Shelduck flew W offshore.
