Otter Estuary

22 members met at Whitebridge and took a circular walk down the river to the sea front and then back up the west path, venturing a little north of South Farm Cottages before returning to the cars.

A singing Cettis Warbler briefly presented itself well before taking flight and numbers of finches, tits and other small passerines were present throughout the morning.  Shelduck and Teal were present in double figures plus a lonesome Wigeon (injured) on the scrapes. A short sea watch produced distant sightings of Gannet and possible divers and Razorbill.  The western path produced Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps in expected numbers, a Gt Spotted Woodpecker, a distant singing Willow Warbler and 2 Buzzard overhead.  Surprisingly no hirondines. Over 40 species listed.
