Tamar Lakes - 5th March

Walk around the Tamar Lakes on Saturday - very cold wind made the water very choppy & the water bird sheltering at the margins on both lakes. Good numbers of Gooseanders (25+) & Great Crested Grebes (16). No birds at all in front of the hide on the Upper Lake but lots of Tits, (Blue, Coal, Great & Marsh), Chaffinches, Dunnocks & Reed Buntings on the feeders alongside the hide on the Lower Lake. Also lovely views of a Jay & a Snipe from the same hide.
