Morning visits to Lee Bay Woods. Nr Ilfracombe

Myself and the the dog have been 'casing' these old woods as a potential for Crossbill, it is a mix of broad leaf with stands of mature conifers, relatively unmanaged. Two morning walks came up with lots of Blue, Great, Long Tailed and Coal Tits, lots of Goldcrest in the conifers, a small flock of what seemed to be meadow pipit in the tree tops, Gold, Chaff and Green Finches. Buzzards and , GSWP, Green heard, Nuthatch, lots of Blackbird and Robins, Wrens etc. A lovely quiet place but nothing unususal apart form a few unidentified calls.
