Stover Lake

 A quarter of the lake was frozen first thing with about 70 Black headed Gulls standing on the ice - No ringed or colour ringed birds seen. 1 Kingfisher, 3 Great crested Grebes, a pair of Mandarin, three Tufted Duck, a Heron and 6 Cormorants. 3 pairs of Great Spotted Woodpecker active with drumming noted. A pair of raven and buzzard calling along with singing Mistle Thrush and Chaffinches. Several male siskins singing. No Common Snipe seen but last fridays count was c216.
