Velator Reserve

Shortish ringing session late this morning produced several more Greenfinches, many of which seemed just a bit bigger than usual (several males with wings over 90mm) - perhaps continental birds? Which reminds me I ringed a very fat Chaffinch in my garden a couple of days ago which weighed in at 27.9 grams, half a gram more than IPMR says is the highest weight!

Also saw a lovely RED ADMIRAL during one of the sunny spells.

Great Tit calling in my garden this morning - must be spring!!
