Avocet Cruise out of Topsham

Good numbers of Godwits as you'd expect with plenty of Dunlin and Grey Plover showing well. With plenty of Floodwater around Topsham and the Clyst confluence the Avocet numbers were diluted with birds seen off Lympstone and further downstream. Nice to see good numbers of Sanderling and Ringed Plover just downstream of Turf locks. 15+ Red Breasted Mergansers seen and great views of a pair of Goldeneye near Topsham. We had an amazing flyby from 300+ Brent Geese heading towards Exminster Marshes.

A quick look at Bowling Green Marsh where the Marsh had been taken over by 2000+ Widgeon and other wildfowl but no American. Just before I left the whole flock was spooked and then the Marsh was birdless. Quite a sight.

Good day around Topsham.
