Clennon Valley Ponds, Paignton

A male Cleopatra butterfly on buddleia on the far side of the 4th (top) pond. There have been a few (genuine?) British records but given previous odd butterfly records in the area this is sure to be a release. Other butterflies included red admiral, painted lady, comma, small copper and assorted whites. Many migrant hawker (mostly on the first pond), southern hawker, common darter and a late blue tailed damselfly. Best of the birds were kingfisher, dabchick, tufted duck, chiffchaff, sparrowhawk.
