The large clump of buddleia close to the car park, at the top of the lane to the hide and beach was absolutely covered in butterflies today - a real sight to behold. There must have been about 35+ butterflies on the bush at any one time. Species on or close to the bush included:
Peacock, Red Admiral, Small White, Comma, Painted Lady, Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown. Best of all though, was a single Clouded Yellow flying along the shingle ridge at the back of the beach closer to midday.
