The thingds we do for wildlife!

About 10.30 last night, heard then found a young hedgehog kicking up a rumpus in our back garden, Didn't know they made any noise never mind what this one was doing, Think it was looking for mummy. Had us up and down till 3.30 when it slipped under the back gate and went for a walk up the road. Silence reigned then it returned at 5 and started again. Put it back in the back garden where it found a quiet nook and quietened down. Wonder what tonight will bring! Despite such a night, went to Broadsands at 6. Saw and heard the sedge warbler though not as vocal as last week. Plenty of cirl buntings, greater black backs and four jays. At Clennon another sedge warbler and either a blackcap or whitethroat singing by the bottom lake. Much quieter there than home but wouldn't have it any other way.
