GalleryPhoto Competition 2017

Welcome to Devon Birds’ first Bird Photography Competition!

Photo CompetitionBuilding on an increased interest in wild birds amongst the general public and the advent of good quality digital cameras, this is a great opportunity for amateurs to spend time observing and recording birds in their natural habitat, and then to showcase their photographs to the wider public. The best entries will be exhibited in the autumn at Torre Abbey in Torquay. The overall winner will receive a £200 voucher to purchase camera equipment from the "London Camera Exchange", and the category winners will be awarded vouchers for £25 each.

Over the past decade, membership of Devon Birds has steadily grown, reflecting the pleasure people get from seeing birds in their gardens, out on family walks and in their day to day lives, as well as a commitment to recording rare species and contributing to their conservation, both practically and financially.

For each category there will be a winner and two highly commended entries. The judges will also select a “Photo of the Year” which will be the overall winner from all categories.
