Ilfracombe

A cacophony of Tawny Owls are calling tonight. Very still and frosty conditions so the calls are resonating well from the Cairn and Score to Marlborough park by at least individuals.

Some other good birds of late inc lots of Common Gulls, 11 Gbb gulls, 2nd CY Iceland Gulls on the boating lake and harbour rocks. Along with a few Red-throated, Great Northern and a Black-throated Diver near to the RNLI mooring off Broadstrand beach. Also single Red Kite at Blackmoor Gate and Mullacote cross.

Colebrook back garden – Blackcap

Probably lowest ever count for Big Garden Birdwatch with only nine species recorded. This poor Blackcap sat all fluffed up against the cold.
