Great White Egret at Upton Pyne
From the train at 08:50 this morning, on a flooded area of a field opposite the Upton Pyne WTW: one Great White Egret and one Little Egret.

Crownhill Down
Redwings, Fieldfares and a solitary Jay along the bridlepath. A flock of c.20 Golden Plovers further up on the moor.
Darwin Crescent, Plymouth.
The Black Redstart is present in the street. It has been here for a number of days now, showing well in the gardens and roofs.

Kingfisher and Greenshank in Bowcombe Creek.
60 Fieldfare at Harleston by Slapton.
Hembury Woods
Early am. 3 Woodcock flushed, close together. Also a fair bit of GSW drumming, 2 Marsh Tits etc.

Fernworthy
Yesterday while working around Chagford I popped over to Fernworthy to photograph the Crossbills. Heard them though saw only one that was near the top of a tree some distance away. Also saw a Great spotted Woodpecker at the top of a nearby tree. Goldcrest, Blue & Coal tits and Siskins also around in small numbers.
Brisworthy plantation nr. Cadover
At least one Brambling in large Chaffinch flock mid morning. Also Treecreeper and several nuthatch.

Black-necked Grebe. Broadsands
Black-necked Grebe off Broadsands this morning, just about close enough for a photo.
Bird was regularly surfacing with greenish wormlike aquatic creatures.
Plym Estuary & Saltram
On a lovely sunny morning’s early high tide: Grey Plover, Common Sandpiper, Snipe, 7 Greenshanks, 41 Wigeon, 2 drake Red-breasted Mergansers, 3 Goosanders (1 drake), 3 Little Grebes & 7 Little Egrets,
Plymouth Parakeets
Not sure if this is a new roost or they have split but there were about 40 Parakeets (it was hard to count accurately as it was almost dark) in the biggest tree on Charles Cross roundabout last night.
Broadsands
On Sea: 1 Black-necked Grebe, 11 Common Scoter, 1 Long-tailed Duck, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Great Northern Diver.
In car parks: 11 Cirl Buntings, 1 Reed Bunting, 1 Firecrest, 1 Goldcrest
Salmonpool bridge, Exeter
A water rail showed briefly in the flood relief channel under the footbridge yesterday afternoon. I’d heard one just the other side of the river a few weeks ago, nice to see it!
Sidford- White Tailed Eagle
White tailed Eagle over the Donkey Sanctuary at around 1220 today. Soaring eastward.

Stover
On a quick walk around Stover Lake this morning there were 2 male Pochard, quite a Devon rarity these days. Tufted Ducks, a female Wigeon and 2 male Goosander also present.
The bird feeders were busy with 2 Marsh Tit, Siskin, male Great Spotted Woodpecker and 2 Stock Dove the highlights.
A Water Rail showed very well by the side of the Lake before dashing into cover.
Fremington Pill.
2 Glossy Ibis. 1Spotted Redshank. About 50 Black-tailed Godwit and 2 Bar-tailed Godwit.Good numbers of Teal and Two Shelduck.

Broadsands & Goodrington ,Torbay
Broadsands: 1 Long-t Duck, 11 Common Scoter, 1 Black-necked Grebe, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Great Northern Diver, 2 Harbour Porpoise. Siberian Chiffchaff again in ditch with 1 Chiffchaff near to O’kahana cafe. Goodrington: 4 Great Crested Grebes
River Mole Valley
Issues with 40 plus Pheasant at one of the supplementary feeding stations in one of the bird mix fields have led me to feed in the orchard with fabulous results.Today’s sightings included 2 Yellowhammers, 55 Chaffinches, 11 Greenfinches,6 Stock Dove,as well as 2 GSWs,2 Marsh Tit,5 Long Tailed Tit,2 Buzzards,a male Sparrow Hawk a Jay as well as the usuals.Elsewhere in the grass fields 50 plus Fieldfare,30 Redwing,20 Starling ,2 Bullfinch, a female Kestrel and 5 Mistle Thrush.Non avian included 21 Red Deer and 3 Roe Deer.
Shipley Bridge/Avon Dam
Late Afternoon: 1 female Hen Harrier & 1 Woodcock.

BGM
Snipe on River Clyst from the boardwalk, also 15 snipe counted in field next to viewing platform this morning.
Penhill Point, River Taw
77 pintail off Penhill Point opposite Heanton Court mid-afternoon today.
