Lesser Scaup – Skern

Lesser Scaup – Skern

At the tail end of the Taw&Torridge branch guided walk at the Skern, Martin spotted a Tufted Duck like bird at distance.
After carful watching through scopes by several people and looking at heavily cropped photos we came to the conclusion it could be a Lesser Scaup.
The following day Martin returned for better views and confirmed L Scaup, subsequently verified by someone with experience of this species who has also seen it.
