Holyford Woods, Seaton.

Blackcap, chiffchaff, wren and robins heard everywhere. Also heard goldcrest and great spotted woodpecker.

Plym Estuary & Saltram

Very quiet over the last few days (although a Whitethroat lingering) but today, a Whimbrel new in on Blaxton Meadow, joined by 3 Curlews. Also, Green Woodpecker, Siskin and a Bullfinch.

Powderham Marsh RSPB

A lunch time visit yesterday. Whitethroat, Sedge and 3 Reed Warblers singing, along with Skylark and Reed Bunting. Family of young Shelduck, 2 male Tufted also.

Two Broad-bodied Chasers and 20+ Azure Damselfly.

Whitethroat also singing for a week now at bridge over Exe at Salmon Pool.

Lundy crossing

2 Red necked Phalarope were alighted from the Sea as the ship passed them They landed in the Sea and gave good views to the many birdwatchers on board

Early this morning on Crownhill Down: Swallows, Greenfinches, Goldfinches, Linnets, Willow warblers, Meadow and Tree Pipits, Skylarks, Cuckoos 2, Green Woodpecker 1, Raven 1 and a solitary Yellowhammer.

Yesterday while in the Challacombe Farm area on Dartmoor I spotted a Garden Warbler and two Willow Warbler. also saw a pair of Great spotted woodpecker, and one Redstart (female).

Red Kites in Totnes

One red kite at Berry Pomeroy at 9:30 and two more on the Totnes-Plymouth road this evening at 6:30pm. All of them soaring over recently ploughed fields, chasing off the seagulls.

Old Torrington Road Barnstaple

Mid morning a red kite drifted up from the S and headed off NE. Shortly after a hobby appeared overhead and flew off W.

Labrador bay

7.20-10.15
it was alive with bird song this morning,  A fly over Grey wagtail was a new one for me at LB. 6 Whitethroat, 9 Swallow and 1 House Martin, 22 Cirl Bunting, 3 Blackcap, 2 Stock Dove, 1 Raven, 5 Chiffchaff. 4 Shelduck on the Sea.

Hobby soaring with two Buzzards at Southdown Farm, Soar mid-morning. Later 10 Red Kites moving north in 75 mins at Harleston by Slapton.

Baggy. Croyde.

3 pairs Whitethroat 4Gannets 6 Meadow Pipits,large amounts of Linnets, 1 pair Wheatear, 1 Common Blue Butterfly, many Painted Lady Butterflies ,1 Orange tip and a few Green Veined Whites.
