Red Kite – Highampton
A red kite was circling over farmland just outside of Highampton this morning.
Nightjars Trendlebere Down
Three or 4 Nightjar heard churring last night, but none seen.
The first brief call was at 8:30, but mainly 9:45 – 10:15.
South Molton
This morning near Molland this Red Kite was seen in the fields adjacent to the B3227.
Dipper River Erme

Sanderling at Braunton Sands
c95 Sanderling with 1 Dunlin and 1 Ringed Plover feeding on the edge of high tide on Braunton Sands.
Red Kites
Two red kites seen this morning whilst travelling along the A3124 about 2 miles north of Winkleigh.
Nightjars at Hartland Forest
Two Nightjar flying from 9.50pm last night 30th May, and at least two more churring, they were in the first clearing as you walk down the track, much less wind than the next area. Wonderful clear sightings with bins as it was still light when they became active. No wing claps, they seemed to be gently flying around each other, one landing then the other coming back to reconnect before both back in the air, lots of vocal too.
Red Kite Germansweek
Red Kite spotted flying over house near Germansweek on 30th May at around 5.45pm. Headed south towards north Dartmoor hills

Dartmoor, Challacombe Farm area
Monday afternoon on Dartmoor was for me time well spent with lots of birds posing for my camera. A Garden Warbler, a Reed Bunting, a Willow Warbler, a pair of Redstarts, a Spotted Flycatcher, a Blackcap and a Meadow pipit. All of the above were within a few metres of each other.

An hour at Ausewell Wood
A pleasant walk pre-work today.
Highlights were two spotted flycatchers, a male bullfinch, singing tree pipit (from cairn) and a small flock of siskin in the canopy.
South Milton Ley
Hobby and female Sparrowhawk over reedbed.
RED KITE
A single Red Kite high over Dartmouth 13.25 flying east.
My first in Devon.

Red kite spotted over Commando Training Centre at 1100 on 30/05/23
Red Kite, Drewsteignton
Red Kite high over the village at 11.45 am, drifted north.
Fremington Quay
Fremington Quay at 8pm – mixed flocks (100+) of dunlin and ringed plover foraging on the mudbanks. Still a lone redshank in Fremington Pill.
