East Soar

24 Swifts overhead leaving these shores late morning. Kestrels feeding young, looks like three successful pairs. Big news is the dearth of insects particularly butterflies; just a few Meadow Browns about, very low numbers of Silver-studded Blues and Dark Green Fritillaries. Hopefully will improve in July but I have my doubts!!
