Morte Point +1 Photo

Morte Point

This week a huge amount of mixed Gulls loafing on the rocks from Grunta beach to Rockham bay, upwards of 2500 all with full crops of Whitebait. Mostly Herring gulls along with 30 Gbbg, 200+ Lesserbb, several 100 Meds and Black headed, a juv Little Gull, 70 Kittiwakes, a handful of Common and 1st CY Yellow-legged gulls.
Around Morte Stone good numbers of Manxies, 60 Gannets and 4+ Sandwich Terns all feeding non stop. Disappointingly i thought all the current Seabird activity might attract some Skuas, but no.
This week at Ilfracombe the first 1st CY Yellow-legged Gulls have showed up and while looking through my record shots a Gull i initially mistook for a Herring Lesser hybrid now appears to be a 3rd cycle Yellow-leg.
