ArticlesCuckoo Update 2016

This spring and summer, our Cuckoo map was active for the third consecutive year (www.devonbirds.org/cuckoos). The project was again very successful this year, with 762 records submitted from across Devon. The majority of these (658 records) were from within Dartmoor, the remainder of the records came from the wider Devon area. We received our first record on 2 April, the last on 23 July. As in previous years, sightings therefore spanned the entire Cuckoo season. Since the start of the project in 2014, more than 2800 observations have now been submitted. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped this project by taking the time to submit their observations.
