A Great Northern Diver high overhead, 8 Common Scoter low over the waves, numerous Gannets and an adult Mediterranean Gull all heading east in strong winds and choppy seas this morning at Wembury Point.
Along the beach by the sewage pipe there were numerous Gulls feeding in the crashing surf on the incoming tide and included 3 Mediterranean Gulls (adult, 1st winter and 2nd winter). A Sandwich Tern resting on the beach amongst the Gulls was a surprise.
Also of note here were a Curlew, 3 Little Egret, 9 Turnstone and 3 Mallard (2 male, 1 female) with a pair seen mating.
The best sighting though was a Woodcock which I flushed as I walked through the pine trees.
