Interesting morning at Wembury today with the highlight a Black-tailed Godwit which dropped in on the beach during a thundery shower before heading off west. A juvenile Yellow-legged Gull also along the beach with 2 ad. and 10 juv. Mediterranean Gulls plus 28 Turnstone, 8 Ringed plover, 6 sanderling, 3 Dunlin, 2 Common Sandpiper, 2 Whimbrel, 2 Curlew and Oystercatchers.
Also 4 Yellow Wagtails along the beach – a single and 3 together and a 5th bird in the horse fields but all headed off inland . 5+Wheatear, juvenile Willow Warbler, Whitethroats, Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps also noted with 3 Sandwich Terns offshore.
