After giving up on a poor ringing session (ringed 9 birds) went for a walk down the East bank of the Caen again. 2 Greenshank were a surprise,2 Oystercatchers weren’t. Lunch by the end of the runway lights looking for a Whimbrel. Thought I saw something further along so walked on and found 1 Curlew and 2 WHIMBREL. The 2 Greenshank were still there on my return and 2 Common Sandpipers near the harbour. Just over the embankment and close to the reserve, a female Wheatear. Reed and Swedge Warblers in song in the reed-bed.
