Hooded Crow early this afternoon amongst 40 or so Carrion Crows in Torre Abbey Park where they were being fed by children.

Eds: With these excellent photos it is now possible to see some very slightly darker line of scapular feathers and darker centres to some of the undertail coverts (both areas should be pure uniform grey in a Hooded Crow)-although minimal it means this bird is a hybrid with a Carrion Crow.  This hybridisation might not been in the last generation but there are some carrion crow genes in this bird. It also goes to show how well a ‘Hooded Crow’ needs to be looked at!
