Farmland bird count: 119 Cirl Bunting but only 19 Yellowhammer – latter must have gone a-wandering (species known to move up to 25kms in winter). Supplementary feeding now started due to failure of bird mix areas leaving only barley stubbles – makes Cirls very vulnerable!
Also: 430 Skylark, 44 Meadow Pipit, 73 Goldfinch, 8 Song Thrush, 40 Linnet & 3 Buzzard.
Non-avian: Brown Hare & 7 Sika (6 stags).
