Moorhens on the Ley had 4 small chicks, 1 of which was hanging out with older juvenile.
On the beach before midday were 4 Ringed Plover, 2 Dunlin & 2 ad, 2 juv Sandwich Tern, all of which had disappeared by time we headed back (may have been 1 or 2 more of any of them, or same may have moved further up beach).
Also BH, H, LBB & GBB Gulls loafing, with a couple of Meds flying north along beach after lunch & a Gannet diving offshore. Several Shags & Cormorants on rocks either side of Blackpool, including juveniles of both, & 3 Rock Pipits.
