Beautiful day, so out locally, with Andy Lansdell. First to Baggy Point where we saw 2 or three Red-throated Diver and 2 probable drake Eider flying off North. At Down End we found 2 female Common Scoter, 8 or 9 Eider, several Oystercatcher and Turnstone plus a single Purple Sandpiper. A quick walk around the reserve revealed several Chiffchaffs (one very grey) a good size Tit flock with mostly Long-tailed Tits. 4 Godwits near the scrape, which was frozen. Lastly we walked down to the estuary, no sign of a Short-eared Owl, but the Little Owl over by the Toll Rd. Several Redshank on the Pill and 3 Grey Plovers near the breach. Plenty of Teal and Wigeon on the main estuary. Marsh Harrier, Buzzard and Kestrel representing Birds of Prey.
