Today on Molland Common there were two Cuckoos (seen and heard), a single Yellowhammer, a Whitethroat, a couple of Willow Warblers, a Great spotted Woodpecker, a couple of Linnets, a Buzzard and Brown Hare.

Best sighting by far was that of two Nightjars (my first ever). Both were perched on burnt gorse and around 600mm (2 feet) from the ground. They were churring (short burst) during the day which drew my attention to them. They were about 10-15 metres from me and around 3-4 metres apart.

To avoid giving away the location of the Nightjars, I’m not posting any photos today.
