Matford Marsh and Riverside CP

A circular walk from Alphington across fields (building site) to Matford Marsh and then up the river valley from Countess Weir.

45+ Meadow Pipit just over A30 from Alphington, 2 Goldcrest and Great S Wood in Alphington too. On Matford Marsh 156 Teal, 82 Wigeon and 10 Shoveler. A very showy Cetti’s Warbler, Snipe and F Bullfinch by the viewing platforms. Plenty of Chiffchaff with 16 on the whole walk.

Along Riverside CP another 26 Teal, 4 Green Sandpiper, 3 Snipe, Water Rail, 3 Little Grebe and Raven. Finally walking back along Alphington Brook a Treecreeper with a small Tit flock.
