Passed a male yellowhammer sat on the phone wire with a mouthful of food for his young. Heard a green woodpecker and a young buzzard. House martins overhead and best of all, disturbed two tawny owls whilst I was going to check my bat boxes. They may have been this year’s young, but still a wonderful sight. I’ll get an owl box in place before next year.
