At about 12.15pm at Hope’s Nose, I watched a Black-necked Grebe for about 10 minutes east of Thatcher Rock and south of Sandy Point.  This was the first time that I had seen this species at this site.

Elsewhere around the headland were an adult male Black Redstart on the south side, a Purple Sandpiper on the Leadstone, a Common Scoter, and a group of 8 Mistle Thrushes close to the entrance.  6 Grey Seals loafed on Thatcher Rock and 2 Harbour Porpoises were nearby.

Earlier, along and from a frosty Haldon Pier at the Harbour, 4 Purple Sandpipers, 11 Turnstones, 2 RTDs, 2 GNDs and 3 Common Scoters were seen.
