Highlight of the field visit to Dunnabridge by the mid-Devon branch of Devon Birds was a Honey Buzzard. It glided in low over the moorland and perched on a fence post quite close to the group. Head size and shape, yellow eye and darkly barred breast with no pale midriff were diagnostic. Eventually it flew off, with drooped wings when gliding, then circled high and drifted off in a SE direction. As such, presumed to be a migrant bird.
