Belated report from yesterday evening (30th Aug.).

On the recently flooded scrapes viewed from the canal bank were c80 curlew, 2+ whimbrel, 2 black-tailed godwits and a little grebe. A green sandpiper flew up from behind the scrapes to be joined by another and then the 2 flew towards Powderham marsh. Two redshank on the lagoon.

Large flock (c30) blue tits and long-tailed tits along the railway path. With the flock were one blackcap and chiffchaffs (c5). Three yellow wagtails with c6 pied wagtails amongst grazing cattle. Next to Station road 11 cattle egrets.

Another tit flock in the trees alongside the cycle path. A single reed warbler in reeds on the canal. A few sand martins at Turf.
